Converter from IPTV streams to DVB-C / DVB-T

Sometimes it is useful to convert TV programmes in a headend into IP streams. Because this way distributed networks can be well connected. Due to the fast fibre optic networks, some network operators only offer TV and multimedia in IP.

New headends are then required for hotels, hospitals or residential complexes with DVB-C/T/T2 terminals: IPQAM and IP to DVB-T2. Of course, the conversion of IP to DVB-C is also interesting for network operators, antenna communities, city carriers and the housing industry if the TV content is distributed via IP in their own network or obtained from other operators.

The EdgeQAM devices support SPTS or MPTS at the input, which can be processed simultaneously. The software enables simple re-multiplexing of incoming streams so that individual programme lists can be compiled. As a multiplex, the programmes are distributed in a channel-economic way. Depending on the product version, the output channels can be modulated as DVB-C / DVB-T (for IPQAM) or DVB-T2 (for IP to DVB-T2).

Converter with multi-tuner for DVB-C/DVB-T feed

The MK 8-xx and MK 16-xx headends have 8 and 16 multituner inputs respectively. The MK 8-06 and MK 16-06 have six CI slots in addtion, allowing Pay-TV channels to be received and decoded at 6 inputs.

All devices can receive DVB-S/S2/S2x/T/T2/C and modulate the selected programmes in DVB-C or DVB-T, depending on the configuration. Another feature of the DVB headend is its flexibility. It can either be mounted directly on a wall or converted into a 19″ rack using the MKZ 1-0x front panels. The power supply unit is built-in.

Configuration and monitoring are carried out locally via the Ethernet interface, via remote maintenance or via the AXING SMARTPortal. Monitoring via SNMP is also possible.

Optribution 

Optribution enables the direct optical transmission of analogue RF signals via optical fibre – from the VHF/UHF or L-band, depending on the model. This allows both terrestrial and satellite signals to be converted. A direct connection to an optical LNB is possible. 16 different CWDM wavelengths, or 48 different DWDM wavelengths can be used to be transmitted over a single optical fibre after a multiplexer (dark fibre). For further signal distribution, the Optribution System offers splitters, amplifiers, redundancy switches and various housings.
